New Committee
Attention master students!
The Medical Faculty Association Nijmegen (MFVN) has been supporting students affiliated with the medical faculty for 73 years, offering both study-related and social Activities. In the bachelor program, the MFVN has many active members who have found a social network at the faculty through the Activities we offer. However, besides bachelor students we also focus on master students. Currently, twice a year, the Medical-intern (coschappers and stagelopers) committee organizes the so-called Master Party. These events are open to all master students of the medical faculty.
This year, we want to expand the Activities we offer for the master students of BMS and MMD by establishing a separate Committee dedicated to you. These activities may include year-around Study Sessions and two social Activities per year. We are looking for four enthusiastic master students who would like to organise accessible Activities for their fellow students. To enter the Committee you have to become Member of the MFVN.
A Membership costs €25 for students of Molecular Mechanisms of Disease and Biomedical Sciences. However, the first Activity hosted by the Biomedical Master Committee will be an open event to reach non-members.
What does the committee entail?
This is the perfect opportunity to an incorporate extracurricular activity without requiring too much time. To give you a rough idea, here is a brief summary of the tasks that belong to the Committee :
Two yearly to be determined Activities are already scheduled. For each Activity, a hour long? meeting is held one month in advance to plan the details and create an action plan. The action plan includes creating promotional materials for the Activity and preparing a small budget, that is funded by the Association. In the upcoming week to the Activity we expect each member to have about an hour to prepare for the Activity in addition to be being present at the Activity.
Besides these two set Activities, there will be room to host additional Activities to bring BMS and MMD students together, but this is entirely up to the Committee.
What is the structure of the Committee?
- Four master students from Biomedical Sciences and/or Molecular Mechanisms of Disease take place in the Committee.
- You are part of the Committee for the duration of your masters program. (Or shorter, if you prefer)

f you are not yet a Member of the MFVN, but are interested in the Committee. Here are some Benefits you will receive if you are part of the Biomedicalmaster Committee:
Members of the Biomedicalmaster Committee can claim € 12,50 to compensate for their membership to the MFVN. The members of the Biomedicalmaster committee receive a maximum discount of € 5,- on their own Activities.
